Become eligible to apply for the Purpose Guides Training: While the Purpose Discovery program is a complete "stand-alone" course, it also serves as Semester-I of the Purpose Guides Training, which will be offered from Jan-June 2024.
Note about a possible optional expense: We highly recommend availing three 1-to-1 sessions with your Mentor during the program, typically offered at a sliding scale rate. These are optional, but we recommend budgeting for them if you can.
What you need to participate: The only equipment you’ll need is a computer, tablet or mobile device with an internet connection. You may also join course sessions and coaching sessions by phone. Attendance on most large group calls, and all small group calls is required.
What if I need to miss one or more sessions? All twelve of the Large Group Sessions are recorded and made available to view/listen online, through online playback or by downloading to your personal audio player. We highly recommend not missing more than 1-2 small groups meetings, as these build community and connection deeply and are not recorded.
How much time commitment does the course require? Our program is not meant for auditing. We require heartfelt participation of all participants in the practices, in order to hold a sacred container for all (which usually amounts to 10 hours a week of time). Please note that one of our practices involves an 8-hour SoulQuest out in nature, in early November.
How can I best prepare for this course? Our program is most effective for folks who have already cultivated some amount of wellness and stability in their lives. Some of the best ways to prepare for this journey are to spend time in nature, support your body with nourishing food and movement, deepen relationships with friends and/or family members, and engage in quiet contemplative practices such as meditation or mindfulness. Note: this program is not recommended for those with ongoing addiction, severe untreated trauma or untreated mental illness. If you are feeling uncertain about your readiness for this ego-destabilizing journey, and are looking for more stability and wellness in your life first and foremost, we recommend working with a coach or therapist for a time before embarking on this purpose discovery journey.
When the course meets: Course begins on Sept 4, 2024 and contains a total of 12 meetings from Sept-Dec. Please note that you will be asked to engage in Module 1 the week prior, but there can be some flexibility around this.
